Choppers split pair

The Davidson County Choppers split an American Legion doubleheader with Eastern Randolph on Thursday at Mike Lambros Field, winning the first game 2-0 and losing the second 5-4.

Kiersten Deal hurled a complete game shutout in the opener. Lauryl Odom was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Sydnety Bowles had a hit and RBI. Meredyth Neal added a hit.

Deal took the loss in relief of Alyssa McNeil in the second game. Kady Livesay went 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs. Maddy Wood, Korina Lookabill and Sarah Hilton each had a hit.

The Choppers conclude the regular season with a doubleheader at Wilkes County on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
