LB Spencer Lytle of Bellflower, CA has seen enough.  He took an official visit to Wisconsin last weekend and an unofficial visit to Clemson the middle part of the week.  He cancelled a planned official visit to Notre Dame for this weekend.  Now, he's ready to  make a decision between the Tigers and Badgers by the end of July.

“In no order Clemson and Wisconsin are currently at the top,” he said. “I really could make a decision anytime between now and August 1, but there is nothing scheduled right now.”

Lytle said he spent a lot of time on his visit with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney,  defensive coordinator Brent Venables and the players.  He sat down with Venables to watch a lot of film to see just how he would fit into the scheme.

“He said I am a perfect fit for what he likes to do on defense. He feels from the classroom, locker room to the football ball field, I am what he is looking for in a linebacker,” Lytle said. “He commented after coming out and watching me live at St. John Bosco, that he felt I could be special as a Clemson linebacker. He said prior to seeing me live he saw me only at SAM. After coming out to my high school he said, I have the ability to play all 3 linebacker spots in his defense.”

Lytle also visited Clemson in April so the two visits gave him a sense of what the football program and the University are all about and what he really likes about the place.

“Primarily the people. Coaches, players and other staff are what makes Clemson special,” he said. “National Championship caliber football, solid business school and academics. I really have a great relationship with Coach Venables and Coach Swinney.”

Before cutting his list to Clemson and Wisconsin, Lytle also had Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Cal and TCU on his short list.  He will sign in December and enroll in January.
