Crest High led the Big South 3A Conference golf match played Tuesday at River Bend.
The Chargers had a 312 total with Kings Mountain in with a 322 effort. In third place was Forestview with 336 followed by, in order, Stuart Cramer at 342, North Gaston with 381 and Burns with 404.
Kings Mountain got a 3-under 69 from match medalist Alex Goff plus scores of 75 by Ty Withers, 85 from Brad Waters and 93 from Travis Wright.
League teams will be back in action at the Catawba Creek Golf Club on Monday.
Burns 10, Bessemer City 0 (5) The Bulldogs (6-1) bounced back from their first defeat of the year by whipping the Yellow Jackets.
Matthew Pittman picked up the win scattering four hits over four innings. He struck out five and walked one. Max Lowe pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Wade Walker, Colson Miller and Hunter Helms had two hits for the victors. Walker had a double and three RBIs on the day. Wesley Summey doubled for Bessemer City.
Burns gets back into Big South league play Friday night at Forestview.
Burns 7, North Gaston 2 The Bulldogs scored a non-conference win Wednesday.
Singles winners for the Bulldogs were Zach Benfield (2-0), James Patten (2-1), Garrett Geter (2-0) and Zane Gordon 2-1.
The Bulldogs swept the Wildcats in doubles with Benfield/Patten (8-3), Grady Rickard/Geter 8-6 and Ryan Melton/Gordon (10-8) earning victories.
Burns will host Ashbrook on March 22.
Crest 7, Ashbrook 0 Madison Humphries had four goals, Gracie Patrick added two and Morgan Reel also found the net for the Lady Chargers in the Big South 3A Conference win Wednesday.
Reel, Kristina DeBrew, Connor Davis, Alli Varga, Paige McIntyre and Jillian Hux picked up assists for the victors.
Charlize Ledbetter was in goal for the shutout for Crest (1-0 league, 3-0) which plays a makeup game at Central Cabarrus Thursday at 5 p.m.
Kings Mountain 9, Hunter Huss 0 The Lady Mountaineers rolled past Hunter Huss on the road to open its Big South 3A Conference schedule.
Lindsey Deaver scored three goals for Kings Mountain with Sarah Drennan adding a pair of goals with three assists. Summer Campbell also contributed two goals and two assists for the victors while Cassidy Calhoun produced a goal and two assists. Carley Johnson added a goal and Georgia Moss and assist for the Lady Mountaineers.
Baylee Marr was in goal for the shutout. Olivia Martin, Raegan Buchanan, Rece Guy and Mackenzie Ramsey played well on defense.
KM travels to Hendersonville for a JV/varsity twinbill Wednesday.
Thomas Jefferson 5, Cherryville 1 The Lady Ironmen dropped to 1-1 on the season with a loss to South Piedmont 1A Conference foe Thomas Jefferson (2-2-1).
Hannah Cooke had the only goal for Cherryville off a Emily Black assist.
Cherryville is back in action at home Thursday against the West Mecklenburg Square in a JV/Varsity twinbill starting at 5 p.m.

Kings Mountain 12, Lincolnton 1 The Patriots won their first division game of the year and improved to 2-1 overall.
Pitchers Charlie Melton and Peyton Fisher combined on a one-hitter for KMMS with 17 total strikeouts and four walks.
Caleb Broome had a 3-run home run for the victors and Fisher supplied a two-run blast. Melton, Braiden Garris and Kenyon Moore had two hits apiece for Kings Mountain.
KMMS plays Thursday at North Lincoln.

Raiders 25, Falcons 6 Myles Parks ran four touchdowns for the Raiders covering 35, 35, 55 and 45 yards. . Camerion Washington had a 35-yard scoring burst for the Falcons.
Panthers 26, Vikings 12 Noah Gardner caught two touchdown passes from Damon Cook for the victors. Tristen Hullender also caught a scoring pass from Cook to go with a conversion. Cook also ran for a touchdown and Zoe Garson provided a conversion for the Panthers.
Dalton Owen completed touchdown passes to Parker Maddox and Jylantz Marion for the Vikings.
Connor Goforth was one of the golfers scoring for Shelby High in a SWC 2A match on Monday.
