HIGH POINT — The Randleman High School boys varsity basketball team posted a 59-55 win over top-seeded High Point Andrews in the semifinals of the PAC Tournament Wednesday.

RHS, the fourth seed, will meet Wheatmore Friday in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. at WHS.

Nate Cassidy and Sam Gribble had 12 points each for RHS and Dominick Poole had 10.

AHS girls fall

GREENSBORO — The Asheboro High School girls varsity basketball team dropped a 59-33 decision to Eastern Guilford in the semifinals of the Mid-Piedmont Conference Tournament Wednesday night at Southeast Guilford High School.

The top-seeded EG girls advance to the

championship game Friday.

The loss leaves AHS 13-12 on the season.

Diamond McDowell had 10 points and Madison Priest had five for the Blue Comets.

ER girls fall to J-Matthews

SILER CITY — The Eastern Randolph High School varsity girls basketball team fell 61-37 to Jordan-Matthews in the semifinals of the PAC Tournament Wednesday.

The Wildcats trailed 21-18 at the break, but saw the Jets soar in the final half.

“Our usual, struggled offensively and too many turnovers,” ER coach Lynda Hooker-Ravenell said. “We played good in the first half, moved the ball well and played good defense. We lost control after halftime.”

Aniyah King had 16 points for the Wildcats.

High Point Andrews recorded a 62-29 win over Trinity in PAC Tournament semifinal action Wednesday. The top-seeded Red Raiders advance to Friday’s 6 p.m. championship game at Wheatmore High School.

UCAMS wins

GREENSBORO — The Uwharrie Charter Academy Middle School boys basketball team posted a 37-26 win over Triad Math and Science Academy in the second round of the state tournament Wednesday.

Max Denamur had 12 points and Alijah Barker had 11 for UCAMS (13-3).

Faith girls win

The Faith Christian School varsity girls basketball team posted a 49-43 win over Forsyth Home Educators.

Ashley Avelino had 19 points, Kayla Langley had eight points and Abbey Stout and Alexis Blakley each had seven for the Eagles (18-4).
