Arendell Parrott Academy 87, Faith Christian School 41: Nick Harrison scored 23 points while Kris Wooten and AJ Banker each added 20 as Arendell Parrott opened the NCISAA playoffs Tuesday with a home win over Faith Christian School.

Trey McLawhorn added 10 points for the Patriots (14-10), who visit Coastal Christian in the second round Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Parrott outscored Faith 29-12 in the first quarter and extended its lead to 53-23 at halftime. Faith ended 16-10.

 

Bethel Christian 71, Northeast Carolina Prep School 53: Ryan Jones scored 16 points to lead four Bethel Christian Academy players in double figures as the Trojans defeated visiting Northeast Carolina Prep School in a nonconference game Tuesday to close out the regular season Tuesday.

Michael Fulcher added 14 points while Cody Dunk had 11 and Scott Sanderson scored 10 for BCA, which will open the NCISAA playoffs Friday.

 

North Lenoir 63, Ayden-Grifton 58: Fourth-seeded North Lenoir defeated fifth-seeded Ayden-Grifton in the first round of the Eastern Carolina Conference tournament Tuesday.

The Hawks (13-10) play at No. 1 Kinston on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The Chargers fell to 10-12.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Arendell Parott Academy 42, St. David’s School 30: Kim Seibert recorded 18 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks to lead Arendell Parrott past St. David’s School in the first round of the NCISAA playoffs Tuesday.

Scarlett Combs added 14 points for the Patriots (15-7), who visit Cape Fear Academy on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the second round. St. David’s ended 10-10.

Parrott outscored St. David’s 15-6 in the first quarter.

 

North Lenoir 40, Greene Central 36: North Lenoir’s Kanijah Taylor scored 14 points and Integrity McPhail added 9 points on three 3-pointers as the fourth-seeded Hawks held off fifth-seeded Greene Central Tuesday in the first round of the Eastern Carolina Conference tournament.

The Hawks (10-13) play at No. 1 Kinston on Wednesday in the semifinals. Greene Central ended 5-16.

Aniyah Jones led the Rams with 19 points.
