Editor: Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost upon us, so I want to send out a reminder of what's most important this holiday season. Thanksgiving is not turkey day. It's a day to give thanks. Christmas is not happy holidays. It's Merry Christmas. This world has done everything to take people's minds off of God when these special days should cause our focus to be mainly on worshiping God and thanking Him for his goodness. In Romans 1:23-25, the Bible says, "And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like unto corruptible man, (Santa Claus) and to birds, (turkey) and four footed beasts, (Easter bunny) and creeping things. (Halloween). Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” (parenthesis added)

I want to encourage everyone this Thanksgiving to remember that all your blessings come from God and not the turkey. The turkey didn't do anything for you except make your belly full. And at Christmas, remember that Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given to mankind. Santa Claus can't take you to heaven but Jesus can. When Easter rolls around, remember that Jesus Christ rose from the dead so that we could have eternal life, but the Easter bunny is still dead. And next Halloween, let's remember the holiness of our almighty God. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.
