I remember how it went with the Iranians and the Reagan campaign. The hostages were being held at gunpoint in the U.S. Embassy and President Carter’s raid failed in a sandstorm.

Reagan and friends worked a deal where the Iranians understood that if Reagan became President the hostages would be traded for friendlier relations.

I ask our citizens, “Wasn’t it really dishonest to deal behind the sitting President’s back and force him out of any deal to get our hostages out of Iran?”

His promise to gain the hostages’ release greatly helped Reagan appear stronger than Carter while Americans were being told how Carter is too weak. Hence a back channel deal helped elect our beloved Ronald Reagan.

The Russian election meddling was obviously welcomed by the Trump campaign who gleefully used everything the Russians did to hammer Hillary. Trump claimed he knew the Russians, had done business in Moscow, and claimed to get along with Putin. There will be no trail to show a promise from the Russians to attack Hillary for Trump.

It is still okay with determined Trump supporters that there was an obvious understanding that gave the Russians the green light to bash Clinton because they despised her. Wheeler-dealers avoid notes. Nobody knows better than Trump’s people that a wink and a nod can carry more weight than signed documents.

This is why phone calls and private conversations have to be pulled out under oath. People have lied already. Beware; the man who lies to his faithful supporters will eventually desert them, too.

Will it take four years to wake up or has Trump hypnotized you?
