SILER CITY — Brenda Mitchem Starcher, 72, of Siler City died Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at her home.
She loved spending her time working in the yard with her flowers and feeding the birds, squirrels, hummingbirds and deer in her backyard.
She was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Pageton, West Virginia, to the late Carl and Virgie Mitchem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Brownfield; and three brothers, Morris (Red), Mark and Mike Mitchem.
She worked most of her life in the restaurant industry before retiring to stay home and raise her youngest son.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil (Butch) Starcher; Andy Starcher and fiancé Savannah Frady; and her beloved and faithful Dachshund companion and her dedicated Shitzu Oreo of the home; children, Anita Brownfield of Tyrone, Penn., Robert and Samantha Brownfield of Smithfield, N.C., James and Melony Brownfield of Pleasant Garden, N.C., Carla Sheppard and husband Steve of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Chris and Tonya Brownfield of Ramseur, N.C.; seven grandchildren and one on the way.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurses of Randolph County, Michelle, Megan, Kelly, Rosemary and Tiffany. Thank you so much for your kind, compassionate and loving care of Brenda in her last days.
