LEXINGTON — A man and a woman, who wrecked their vehicle while fleeing from authorities, were charged in connection with the robbery of a Food Lion in Davidson County on Thursday.


The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the robbery at 12201 N.C. 150 around 1:30 p.m. While en-route, deputies were radioed a description of the suspect and vehicle, a blue Honda Civic. They spied the vehicle traveling south on N.C. 150 towards Tyro and pursued the suspects. At N.C. 150 and U.S. 64, the vehicle wrecked and deputies apprehended the pair while they were still inside.


Frederick Bowles, 26, of 3430 Canterbury Ridge Court, Winston-Salem, and Victoria Sue Violet Griffin, 24, of 1333 Cromer Road, King, were arrested without incident.


Bowles was charged with common law robbery, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under a $510,000 secured bond.


Griffin was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. She was placed under a $250,000 secured bond.


Both were given a court date of July 30.
