Networking and connections can be the tools that help people build successful businesses.
The Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce brought together nearly 50 local businesses Tuesday evening for the Chamber Business Showcase in Kings Mountain.
The annual event serves as an opportunity for business owners and employees to make connections and partnerships in the community.
“It’s a great way to market your business to a lot of community leaders, as well as other businesses,” Bill Watson, Cleveland County Chamber president, said.
This year marked the fourth year the Chamber has hosted the event. For some business owners, like Jimmy Magar of Chiropractic Health Associates, attending has become tradition.
“I come back every year because it’s good for business,” Magar said. “Every year that I come back, I typically get new patients, get to see old patients and get to make new connections with folks I do business with on a regular basis.”
Other business owners were attending the showcase for the first time.
With so many local businesses in one place, Brandon McKee of MS Heating & Air felt the event was a good match for the type of work his company does.
“We do residential also but we try to specialize in the industrial and commercial with all the industrial manufacturing companies moving in,” he said.
Trecia Haynes attended to showcase her Shelby businesses, T’Adore Hair Studio and Kurlz 4 Girlz and Kutz 4 Boyz.
“For me, it was to network more and to put out there the services that we offer,” she said.
With Kurlz 4 Girlz and Kutz 4 Boyz aiming to benefit kids in the community, Haynes also hoped to inform people about what she does through the program in hopes of forming some partnerships to take that mission even further.
The chamber event was also attended by business leaders who can provide useful tools.
Steve Padgett of the Small Business Center at Cleveland Community College was there to spread the word about the services the center offers to help entrepreneurs start or grow a business.
