Shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, the Boiling Springs Fire Department was called to a house fire at 311 Slate Drive in Boiling Springs.

The house was too consumed to be saved by the time help arrived, resulting in a total loss, Boiling Springs Fire Chief Scott Miller said.

The family of seven who lived in the house escaped safely, and no one involved in the incident was injured, Miller said. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The fire also caused damage to the houses on either side of it. No cause has been determined.

Boiling Springs Fire Station 2 and North Spartanburg Fire Department also responded to the blaze, and New Prospect and Cooley Springs firefighters were called for assistance.
