1. Fayetteville Beautiful: The Fayetteville Beautiful annual citywide cleanup is Saturday. Residents who want to participate should meet at Cross Creek Park on Green Street from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Volunteers may sign up at fayettevillebeautiful.com, click on the “Citywide Cleanup Map” and select the area they want to clean up.

2. Pasta Workshop: The Cumberland County Cooperative Extension Better Living Series "Use Your Noodle - Basic Pasta'' workshop is April 24, noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Agriculture Center,  301 E. Mountain Drive. Participants will learn to make their own pasta then prepare a batch for a home-cooked meal. A $10 registration fee is due by Friday. 3. Ribbon Walk & Run: Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation's Ribbon Walk & Run is Saturday at Festival Park. Register at www.bit.ly/rw-registration. The event includes a 5k run/walk and a 1-mile route that follows along Linear Park and through downtown before heading back to the finish line at Festival Park. Entertainment will be provided in the park throughout the morning. Proceeds benefit cancer center patients by providing gas vouchers, medication assistance, free mammograms for the uninsured, wig vouchers, art therapy, yoga, nutritional supplements, emergency funding for house payments for patients in need and other assistance programs. 4. Dancing With the Fayetteville Stars: The 10th annual event is Saturday at 6 p.m. at McCormick Farms, 8195 McCormick Bridge Road in Spring Lake. The event is a fundraiser for the Center for Economic Empowerment & Development. Tickets start at $80. For more information or tickets, go to ncceed.org.
