Hats off to the law enforcement officers everywhere.

Recently, I attended the funeral of a family member. The service was at a funeral home and we traveled a good distance to the cemetery where the lady was to be buried. The funeral took place during a very busy time of day when traffic seemed to be unusually heavy. As we left the funeral home in the procession, each car had to follow really close so no one would get separated.

The law officers were great. We went through several stoplights and intersections. At every light and intersection, a police or patrol car was waiting with their blue lights on. They stopped traffic so we could continue on our way and no one was separated from the procession. At one intersection, one of the law officers was standing beside his vehicle and he put his right hand over his heart as we went through.

It was wonderful to see so much respect shown at such a sad time. I just want to say thank you to all the law enforcement officers. You are truly appreciated.
