A "Femme Fair" will be held March 25 to mark the opening of the bookstore for Athenian Press and Workshops.

Athenian Press and Workshops will celebrate the grand opening of its bookstore and resource center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 25 in its new location at 2231 Wrightsville Ave.

The event will be celebrated with a Femme Fair, with dance performances, live music, fire juggling, feminist-oriented games, food trucks, vendors and a visit from Louisa May Alcott the mini pig. Tickets to the fair will be $10 general admission and $5 for students; those aged 4 and younger will be admitted free.

The fair will be followed at 4 p.m. by a panel discussion with co-founders Lori Wilson, Khalisa Rae and Daisuke Shen.

The bookstore, which will will feature books, artwork, and literary merchandise created by and for women and femmes, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays. After hours, the space will be used for writers' workshops, readings, film screenings, panels, conferences and a quarterly poetry slam.
