ASHEBORO — The Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce announced that Motel 6 will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting event, planned for 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, at the motel, located at 827 Albemarle Road. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

ARCHDALE — The Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce announced Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont will host Coffee & Conversation, planned for 8-9 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Guil-Rand Fire Department, 10506 S. Main St. Robin Williams and Grace Giberson will present information about the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, how it impacts the lives of children and the need for volunteers. NorthState declares dividend


HIGH POINT — NorthState, a fiber optic network, cloud and IT services provider, announced that the board of directors of NorthState declared a cash dividend of $1.30 per share on the company’s common stock. The dividend is payable on March 5 to stockholders of record on Feb. 20.

Grant writing seminar Feb. 24


ARCHDALE — Randolph Community College announced that Michelle Cole will present “Grant Writing and Compliance,” a three-hour seminar at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Archdale Center, 110 Park Drive. The workshop, which is free for members of the business community, was designed for nonprofit staff, board members, private educational institutions, nonprofit hospitals and government agency staff. This seminar includes exercises on development and proposal writing as well as peer-reviewing of writing and budgeting exercises. To register, call 336-328-1750.
