This past Wednesday a man was stopped on Rocky Run Road by an Onslow Count Sheriff's Office deputy. In a Facebook video, the man claimed his rights were violated and that he was "targeted."
The stop is known as an “investigative detention,” according to a release from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, was both legal and lawful.
"An investigative detention" is legal and lawful because the man was known to have a lengthy criminal record, according to the release.
When deputies determined that the man had no outstanding warrants, he was free to leave.
