There are now four people running for two seats on the Kinston City Council this fall.
According to the Lenoir County Board of Elections, Lennie Peterson and Nathan Perry will join Antonio Hardy and incumbent councilman Robert Swinson in running for City Council.
Peterson ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the City Council in 2015, earning just over 2 percent of the vote.
This is the first time Perry has run for public office.
Voters will decide who will fill the two seats up for election on the city council — currently held by Swinson and Wynn Whittington — on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Potential candidates looking to enter the races for Kinston mayor, Kinston City Council, Pink Hill Town Commission or La Grange Town Commission seats have until noon Friday to file with the Lenoir County Board of Elections.
