1. Medicare workshop: The N.C. Senior Citizens Association will host free workshops, "Understanding Medicare," on Tuesday and June 27 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. 2. Balls & Strikes: Friendship House Fayetteville and the Fayetteville SwampDogs have teamed up to present the fifth annual Balls & Strikes Bowling Classic. Proceeds will benefit Friendship House Fayetteville, an intentional living community that provides affordable, integrated housing for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and health care students. The event is Sunday from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at B&B Lanes, 3003 Fort Bragg Road. The cost is $50 per team of four. That includes two hours of bowling and shoe rental. 3. Korean War Remembrance Ceremony: A Korean War remembrance ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in downtown Fayetteville. The ceremony is at 10 a.m. Retired Col. Douglas C. Dillard, a World War II, Korea and Vietnam veteran, is the guest speaker. For more information, call 643-2778.

4.Wing fling: The second annual Vision Resource Center chicken wing cook-off is Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Festival Park. The Out of Sight Wing Fling is a fundraiser for the organization, which serves the blind and visually impaired. Admission is $5, $10 for wing tasting.
