The Davidson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2017-2018 county budget during its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Davidson County Governmental Building.

The $170 million budget proposal includes no tax increase, but an overall pay increase of 2.9 percent for government employees and sheriff’s deputies.

County commissioners will also continue their discussion about combating roadside litter through different literature. They had previously suggested included writing a letter to local disposal companies asking them to remind their drivers to cover their loads, creation of informational pamphlets to be distributed at local box sites, and involvement of local schools in the effort to raise awareness.
