Last Saturday, the Camaro South Club and the Hope Mills Cruzers returned to Hope Mills Lake for the first Cruise-in at Big T’s since the return of the lake.
The event showcased more than a dozen different and well-maintained classic show cars.
There was a huge crowd at the lake park on Saturday. People were able to get an up-close look at the old cars, enjoy the lake and perhaps enjoy a treat from Big T’s.
“It was the biggest day we have ever had at Big T’s” says Donna Gray. Gray and her husband Timmy are the co-owners of Big T’s at the lake park pavilion.
This is the first Cruise-in at Big T’s in about three or four years, says Timmy Gray.
Classic cars are an important part of history. People are able to observe how the designs of the vehicles and the engineering have evolved throughout the years.
Many people simply enjoy coming to see the old cars for nostalgic reasons. Most everyone has had a classic car in their lives and seeing these old cars can stir up sentimental feelings.
Donna Gray says she is very excited to see the Classic Car Clubs return to the lake park.
“It is has been a long time” Gray said. “And I am excited about the support we are getting from the community.”
