The Gastonia Toastmasters Club holds an open house and a new location ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 15, at the Warlick Family YMCA, 2221 Robinwood Road, Gastonia.

The meeting takes place from 7 to 8:15 a.m. in the Intergenerational Room.

"Gastonia Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” said Vincent Sabotin, club president.

Attendees will enjoy a presentation from Gaston Regional Chamber's new CEO, Steve D’Avria, along with Table Topics (impromptu speeches) from current Toastmasters..

Kevin Spalding, current VP of Membership, who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master.

“Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” said Spalding. “This is where members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”

Gastonia Toastmasters meet every Thursday at 7 a.m. at the Warlick Family YMCA. For more information, visit their website at or contact Kevin Spalding at 704-675-5661.
