MEBANE — Elisha T. Minter will present "The Bread Family Tales: Growing up in Rural North Carolina during Jim Crow" at 7 p.m. Monday in the Milton McDade meeting room, Mebane Historical Museum, 209 W. Jackson St.

Minter, a storyteller and actress, will offer a collection of stories, photos and foot-stomping music on the daiily life of a rural family in the Jim Crow era. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. The event is sponsored by the North Carolina Humanities Council.
